  1. The 4-year plan above is only a suggestion. Students may follow different paths toward graduation. Students are encouraged to explore courses from other disciplines and to make their plan based on their interests, especially if they want to combine the study of Mathematics with other subjects. Students can consult with their academic advisors, or faculty in Mathematics concerning their 4-year plans.
  2. The 4-year plan is designed so that:
    – It is possible to finish all Distribution Requirement (DR) courses and two of the Divisional Foundation (DF) courses in the freshman year (Y1) while students have also taken enough MATH courses in that year to have a very general idea of what the Mathematics track is about.
    – It is possible to finish all 200 level courses and some 300 level courses that can be useful for research projects in the sophomore year (Y2).
    – It is possible to finish all major requirements except CAPSTONE courses by the end of the junior year (Y3). This gives flexibility in case that students don’t follow this plan while still allowing to finish all major requirements on time.
