The Stone Laboratory (www.zoo-plankton.net) at the University of South Carolina is recruiting a PhD graduate student in the area of zooplankton ecology and/or biological oceanography to start in the summer or fall of 2024.
The research will be part of the NSF funded project Ecological and biogeochemical role of Rhizaria in the oligotrophic ocean and will include field work in the Sargasso Sea. The research may also include experimental and model-based components with flexibility for the student to develop their own project.
Year-round support (including health benefits & tuition) is provided through a mixture of teaching and research assistantships.
Interested individuals should contact Dr. Joshua Stone via email stone@sc.edu to discuss their background and research interests.
