PhD position in Ecological Health of Yellowstone Birds 

Montana State University’s Institute on Ecosystems is seeking a motivated individual for a PhD assistantship in a joint MSU and Greater Yellowstone Coordinating Committee collaboration. The project will draw in existing bird survey data to quantify species population trends, analyze potential environmental correlates, project future trends under climate and land use scenarios, and recommend management actions to conserve species in decline. 

The position will begin January 2024 academic semester and has funding for three years. Applications are due October 1, 2023; however, applications will continue to be accepted until an adequate applicant pool has been established.
