Are you an enthusiastic undergraduate student with a passion for unraveling the mysteries of the brain? Elevate your summer by joining our Neuroscience Research Collaborating Fellowship, where you will embark on neuroscience research in Nanjing Brain Observatory (NBO).

About the position:

DKU Professors Eric Chen (https://scholars.duke.edu/person/Chia-Chien.Chen/research Lab website:https://chenneurolab.org/) and Professor Eric Tam (https://faculty.dukekunshan.edu.cn/faculty_profiles/shu-kit-tam) are collaborating with the Nanjing Brain Observatory http://www.raygenitm.com/, which is a neuroscience research lab founded by Beijing University to explore the boundaries of the brain by understanding the involved neuronal circuits. We are thrilled to offer an exclusive opportunity for ambitious undergraduate students at DKU to engage in cutting-edge research this summer at NBO. Traveling and housing expenses will be included.

What You’ll Experience:

• Research topic will be on motor learning, sleep deprivation, and synaptic plasticity and neuronal activation ensemble profiles in the brain.

• Immersive hands-on research in neuroscience.

• Direct mentorship from Professors Eric Chen and Eric Tam, and renowned experts in the field from Beijing University and NBO.

• Access to top-notch lab facilities, including confocal and super resolution microscopy, miniature two-photon microscope in free moving awake animals, chemogenetics, and optogenetics.

Eligibility:

• Currently enrolled undergraduate students at DKU in neuroscience, biology, psychology, or related fields.

• GPA of 3.5 or above.

• A fervent interest in neuroscience and research.

• Exceptional communication and teamwork skills.

Duration:

The fellowship spans 10 weeks during the summer, starting from 5/27 to 8/4/2024.

Location:

Nanjing Brain Observatory, Jiangsu Province
